The foundation of my practice is Swedish massage, which involves kneading and stroking of muscles with the intention of softening the tissues and increasing blood flow. That is blended with a variety of other techniques learned and adopted over many years of practice.

Each massage is customized to meet your needs, and the focus can be general relaxation or targeting a specific problem area. In addition to traditional massage, I offer the following specialties:

  •  Elder Massage
I have worked with older people ranging from robust to frail and am well versed in the health challenges and special needs common to this population.
  •  Oncology Massage
I have advanced training and experience in working with people during and after cancer treatment. Oncology massage can help relieve common side effects of cancer and its treatment, such as pain, nausea, fatigue, anxiety and depression.  Positioning and techniques can be modified for comfort and to provide maximum benefit without compromising safety.
  • Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage helps to relieve the stresses caused by changing hormones and shifting weight, and offers comfort and reassurance during this time of major change in the life of a mother-to-be. Plenty of bolsters and adapted positioning keep the mother and developing baby safe and comfortable while on the massage table.
  • Pediatric Massage
I love children, and they typically sense that and become comfortable with me quickly. Bodywork with children tends to be more playful and adapted to the child’s mood and style. LiddleKidz™ Pediatric massage certification has equipped me to work with children at all developmental stages, including those with medical and sensory challenges.  I also offer comforting touch (palliative care) to improve the quality of life for children with life-limiting medical conditions.
  •  Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy uses light pressure (no more than the weight of a nickel) to manipulate the bones of the head and sacrum and influence the fluid-filled sac surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It is useful for people who cannot tolerate traditional circulatory massage, and it can have a calming influence on the autonomic nervous system. I have three levels of training from the Upledger Institute and many years of experience working with people whose issues range from headaches to jaw pain to fibromyalgia to anxiety.
